Xeomin

Xeomin can be used as a cosmetic treatment to smooth the lines of the face. Similar to other products, like Botox or Dysport, our Long Island medspa team uses Xeomin to treat glabellar lines, crow’s feet and frown lines.

WHAT IS XEOMIN?

Xeomin only contains one ingredient: botulinum toxin A. Just like Botox, it is delivered via injection to the face to treat wrinkles and signs of aging.

HOW IT WORKS

Xeomin works just like other botulinum toxin injections – by blocking the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions and, in turn, facial wrinkles, Xeomin softens signs of aging in the face.

BENEFITS

Xeomin has comparable effectiveness to Botox, and is a safe alternative to other injectables. Similar in price and efficacy, Xeomin provides excellent results while not requiring invasive procedures.

RESULTS

A great option for diminishing wrinkles and other signs of aging, Xeomin is FDA approved and has demonstrated comparable results to Botox in clinical trials.

What’s The Difference Between Xeomin and Botox?

One of the main differences between Xeomin and other cosmetic injections is Xeomin’s exclusion of additives. It only includes one ingredient – botulinum toxin A – unlike Dysport or Botox, both of which contain additives. Although all three work the same way, Xeomin’s purity may make patients less likely to develop resistance. Xeomin is also the first injection of its kind that does not require refrigeration before use, which may simplify the distribution process.

Botox and Xeomin are comparable in price and length of effectiveness, and both require continuation of treatment if results are to be maintained.

Who Can Use Xeomin?

Just like Botox, Xeomin is approved for use for adults over the age of eighteen. Some conditions (including certain allergies) may prevent you from being eligible for treatment, but our Long Island medspa team will help determine your eligibility.

What to Expect After Xeomin Injections

Tending to last three to four months, results of Xeomin may be visible slightly longer than Botox, but only by a few weeks. Repeated injections are necessary to maintain Xeomin’s effects and keep skin looking young and healthy.

Fortunately, the procedure is non-invasive and low risk, requiring little to no recovery time. Some side-effects may occur, but these tend to be mild. They usually include slight pain or swelling around the injection site, or minor bruising.
