Microneedling in Long Island
Better Skin Through Your Own Biology
There is a version of your skin that existed before the years of sun exposure, stress, hormonal shifts, and the slow decline of collagen that starts in your mid-twenties and never really stops. The lines that used to disappear overnight now stay. The texture that used to be smooth now catches light differently. Pores look larger. Scars from years ago that you thought had faded are more visible than ever. And the skincare routine that used to be enough has stopped producing results.
Most people in this situation turn to products first. Serums, retinols, masks, anything that promises to reverse what time has done. Some of it helps at the margin. None of it reaches the layer where the real change needs to happen, which is the dermis, where collagen and elastin production actually occurs.
Microneedling works at that level. The Eclipse MicroPen creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin using 12 surgical-grade, single-use needle tips that oscillate rapidly across the surface.

WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?

HOW IT WORKS

MICRONEEDLING BENEFITS
Treatment revitalizes your skin by enhancing its tone and texture. This advanced treatment helps smooth fine lines, fade scars and stretch marks, and reduce visible signs of aging. Unlike laser-based procedures, it delivers noticeable results without increasing the risk of pigmentation or skin discoloration.

RESULTS
What Device Is Used for Microneedling?

Microneedling Frequently Asked Questions
Does Microneedling hurt?
Numbing cream sits on the skin for about 20 minutes before anything starts. By the time the device touches your face most of the sensation is gone. Pressure and vibration is what patients describe most often. Around the forehead and nose it gets more noticeable. Walking out, the reaction is almost always some version of that was easier than I thought it would be.
How many sessions?
Three is where real change starts showing up for most people. Six is where the harder stuff moves. Acne scarring, deeper texture issues, things that have been building for years take more time than surface level concerns. Sessions get spaced four to six weeks apart on purpose because the collagen response needs time to build between appointments.
How long until I actually see something?
The skin looks better after session one but the result people are actually after takes months to develop. Collagen remodeling does not wrap up quickly. Two to three months after finishing a series is when most patients look back at photos and feel the difference. Anyone expecting a dramatic change the week after their first appointment is going to be disappointed.
What does my skin look like right after treatment?
Red and tight. Feels like a sunburn, looks like one too. Gone within a few days for most people. There is no recovery period that keeps you out of your life and most patients are back to normal the next day.
Safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, and this matters. Laser resurfacing carries real pigmentation risk for deeper complexions because of the heat and light involved. Microneedling works mechanically. No heat, no light, no trigger for pigmentation changes. All skin tones are candidates.
Can I add anything to the treatment?
PRP is the most common addition and the timing is deliberate. Immediately after microneedling the channels in the skin are still open. Platelet-rich plasma applied at that moment reaches deeper than it ever could sitting on an intact surface. The growth factors land where they can actually work. HydraFacial and chemical peels fit into the broader plan too. Your provider maps out what makes sense and in what order.
What do I need to skip afterward?
Retinol, exfoliating acids, direct sun, sweating and heat for at least 24 hours. The skin needs a short window before anything active goes back on. Sunscreen right after and consistently beyond that because treated skin picks up UV damage more easily than usual.
Is this the same thing as Botox?
No. Botox goes under the skin and relaxes specific muscles to soften lines that come from repeated expression. Microneedling works on the skin surface itself, improving texture, density, and overall quality. They do not substitute for each other. Many patients use both because the concerns they want addressed fall into both categories.
Can microneedling be done somewhere other than the face?
Yes. Neck, chest, hands, body areas with stretch marks or scarring. The device adjusts in depth and speed for different areas so it is not limited to the face.
